HOW THE WORK PROGRESSES
One method, adapted to the project and the decision. The sequence defines the work; it does not promise an approval or certification.
Agree the project, jurisdiction, decision, intended use, and scope. Make assumptions and exclusions visible.
Identify relevant criteria, resource interfaces, responsible parties, records, and dependencies.
Review available evidence, record limitations, and separate supported findings from unknowns and gaps.
Set priorities, responsibilities, specialist scopes, and a phased action plan.
Coordinate agreed work, review findings, and define follow-up against clear owners and responsibilities.
ILLUSTRATIVE EVIDENCE LENS
Move the divider to compare the same fictional project record before and after a structured review. This is a demonstration of documentation, not a client result.
Illustrative finding: insufficient evidence for the stated water assumption. The next action is to request a design-stage water balance and identify the owner and appropriate reviewer. Missing evidence is not automatically a failed requirement.
Project water assumption
Estimated demand provided.
A record exists. Its basis still needs review.
Project water assumption
Evidence sufficiency reviewed.
Identify the responsible project owner and qualified review.
Take the example with you: a fictional project review showing records, findings, proposed owners, and next actions.
Explore the sample reviewAPPLICABILITY FIRST
Applicable legal or regulatory obligations need a jurisdiction, scope, source, and appropriate review.
A named standard has its own scope, version, and requirements; it is not automatically law.
A useful practice should be identified as a recommendation and justified for the context.
An optional comparison must not be presented as a mandatory requirement.
HUMAN REVIEW & INDEPENDENCE
Assessment preparation, specialist delivery, and independent assurance are different roles. Competence, scope, conflicts, and review arrangements should be defined for the engagement. LEAIF remains a developing framework; no current accreditation is claimed.
